National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery is located in the parliamentary triangle on King Edward Terrace, Canberra. Opened in December 2008, this stunning building has won many architectural and lighting awards as well as the Canberra and Capital Region’s New Tourism Development Award and the Excellence in providing a positive Visitor Experience Award. As one of only five countries in the world that has a National Portrait Gallery, our gallery is constructed using materials from every state and territory in Australia. It has beautiful natural light and provides a unique opportunity for your event amidst the inspiring display of Australia’s most outstanding individuals.
